VHI Selection Policy 2013
In 2013 the England team for the Veteran Home Internationals will be selected using the results of the following races:
Midland Champs, Sunday 3rd Feb, NOC, Sherwood Forest
JK Day 2, Saturday 30th March, SCOA, Cold Ash
JK Day 3, Sunday 31st March, SCOA, Hambledon
Southern Champs, Sunday 14th April, KERNO, Penhale
British Middle-Distance Champs, Sun 21st April, DVO, Stanton Moor
British Champs, Sat 4th May, SEOA, Winterfold
Northern Champs, Sun 23rd June, EPOC, Castle Carr
Orienteers need to compete in at least two of these races to be considered. Greater weight will be given to the results of the JK and BOC.
If competitors run up then their results will be taken into account on a minutes/k basis.
On occasions a competitor may be recovering from injury or illness, and know beforehand that he/she will not have a good result in a selection race. In such circumstance, the competitor should let a selector know in advance, and then his/her result in that race will not be considered.
In general a ‘retired’ or ‘disqualified’ will be taken to be the equivalent of a very poor run: those wishing to be selected should take every precaution to avoid mispunching in a selection race.
Selectors: Jackie Hallett (BOK), Andy Hemsted (HOC, Chair), Tim Tett (SYO)
