Selection for the England team for the Ward Junior Home International to be held in Scotland on 8th and 9th October 2022 will be based on results in the following races

British Middle Distance Championships 6th March 2022
British Long Distance Champs 26th March 2022
Northern Champs Middle Distance 2nd April 2022
Northern Championships 3rd April 2022
JK Day 2 (Middle distance) 16th April 2022

The team is made up of 4 juniors from each of the following age classes; M&W 14, M&W 16, M&W 18.

M/W18’s seeking selection would be expected to run M/W18E courses, where provided, at selection races.

M/W16’s seeking selection would be expected to run M/W16A courses at the selection races and M/W14’s seeking selection would be expected to run M/W14A courses at the selection races.

The Selectors expect that any athlete wishing to represent England will successfully complete at least four of the above races, with at least two being long distance races.

In the event that a race, or races, are cancelled, or a course is voided the selectors will still consider competitors without the requisite number of results provided that they had entered the cancelled race(s) and that the total of achieved results plus entries for cancelled races meets or exceeds the required number of races.

Illness or Injury;
All cases of illness or injury which may affect an athlete’s ability to compete fully or at all in one of the above selection races should be notified in writing to the Selectors prior to the running of that race, clearly explaining why.
