Orienteering England

The 2016 SHI was hosted by Wales on the forested dunes of Newborough Forest, organised Eryri Orienteers. Though England convincingly won the W21 class, Scotland won the day with a 5 point lead. In the relays, England took first and third place in the Men’s and first and fourth in the Women’s which gave England a 27 to 23 point victory that day, but one point short of the deficit from the previous day. Scotland therefore retained the SHI trophy by a single point: the closest SHI result in years. Wales cemented third place, comfortably beating the Irish.
